Getting Naked

With many of the manufacturers doing away with some of the bodywork and offering a "naked" version of their popular sport models, this trend is spreading like wildfire.

On the left is Suzuki's 2009 Gladius which some report might replace the aging SV650. With its open trellis style frame similar to that of Ducati's Monster and trick looking exhaust it's sure to win more than a few hearts. Price estimated around $5999.

Kawasaki also jumps into the midsized naked bike range with the addition of the new ER-6N ( you can guess what the "N" stands for). This bike is based on the recent motorcycle of the year winner the Versys 650 and the new Ninja 650R. Prices starting at $6399.

Love them or leave them, naked bikes are here to stay. A slightly lower price and less bodywork to wash and wax these are fun machines focused on pure riding enjoyment be sure to check them out when they arrive at your local dealership.
